Our Story

Viveri Food Colors was created to meet two needs: to provide a reliable and uninterrupted supply of FD&C colors when other suppliers abandon the market for more lucrative “natural colors;” and, ultimately, to provide a wide range of products and services that enhance the visual appeal of foods and beverages.

Viveri Food colors is a subsidiary of Day-Glo Color Corp, the world-renowned specialty effect colorants leader and largest manufacturer of daylight fluorescent pigments since the 1930s. Day-Glo develops technologies that improve and enhance any color, from subtle specialty effects to glow-in-the-dark pigments to the classic range of fluorescents.

Day-Glo fluorescents’ proud heritage has included a major role in pop culture history, brightening and emboldening everything from disco and punk rock scenes to pop-art posters and graffiti on the Berlin wall. But did you know there’s a lot more to Day-Glo than just fluorescents?

Using their extensive technical expertise, Day-Glo developed new technologies to expand their offerings into packaging and consumer goods, plastics, graphic arts, paints and coatings, dyes and textiles, as well as personal care and cosmetic ingredients. No stranger to regulated colorants, Day-Glo developed the first FDA-compliant fluorescent pigments for direct food contact and the only FDA-approved fluorescent colors for cosmetics!

Today, Day-Glo Color’s leadership and experience extends to the certified food color industry with Viveri Food Colors, offering world class-quality, FDA-certified colors from our trusted colleague, Neelikon Food Dyes.

Our Legacy

For more than 30 years, Neelikon has been a major producer of colors for food, drugs, and cosmetics in more than 100 countries. They are currently the largest producer of FDA certified cosmetic dyes outside of the U.S. and boast a perfect record of FDA certification since their first submission in 1999.

Recognizing an underserved market and knowing that the whole is often greater than the sum of its parts, Day-Glo and Neelikon have joined forces to combine our core competencies to best serve the U.S. market.

Day-Glo’s technical expertise, central location, and long-standing reputation for quality and customer focus make Day-Glo the ideal U.S. base.

Neelikon’s full product range, uncompromising focus on quality, and value-pricing have made them the ideal producer.

Today, Viveri Food Colors, a Day-Glo subsidiary, offers the full range of Neelikon-produced FDA-Certified Food Colors—which exceed all U.S., EU, and FAO standards—with value-pricing, domestic inventories, and responsive, expert technical service.
